The project also includes an outdoor amphitheater that provides space directly outside of the Media Center for outdoor reading sessions, classes and small performances. The first phase of the project involved renovations to approximately 19,630 SF as well as a 7,620 SF addition and included full renovation of kitchen and cafeteria space, conversion of the existing library into classroom and science classrooms, and the design of a new centrally-located Media Center. West Shore exceeded my expectations, especially on account of its size.For this phased project, a total of approximately 40,000 SF will be added to the existing 157,000 SF structure to accommodate the expected growth in student demographics.
I joined the soccer team despite having no soccer experience and built valuable relationships within my first few weeks at this school. However, athletics here is not about "winning " it is about giving everybody a chance and helping each other grow physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I joined the speech and debate team and the talented coaches helped me qualify for the NSDA state championship! The sports teams, frankly, are sub-par because of a limited number of players. Music, art, and other extracurriculars are also surprisingly advanced. The teachers are welcoming, and can always assist you because of a low student-to-teacher ratio. For its size, West Shore's coursework is highly advanced - which I love. The class sizes are extremely small, with only six senior girls this year! Conservative values are also highly emphasized here. Junior: This is my first year at West Shore, and it is quite a culture shock.
